Learning the Quran is a very important act in Islam that brings invaluable rewards from Allah (SWT). The Quran is the holy book of Islam, which contains the words of Allah and the guidance for all mankind. Learning the Quran helps Muslims to understand their purpose of existence, to follow the right path, to develop a closer relationship with Allah, and to earn good deeds for the hereafter. As the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “The best among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
Some of the benefits of learning the Quran are:
• It guides you to the right path. Allah (SWT) said: “This is the Book (The Quran) about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah.”
• It intercedes for you on the Day of Judgment. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Read the Qur’an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection.
• It raises your status. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Allah will raise some people by this Book and degrade others by it.
• It purifies your heart and relieves your soul. Allah (SWT) said: “O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.” [Quran 10:57]
• It teaches you the best of manners and morals. Allah (SWT) said: “Indeed, this Qur’an guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward.” [Quran 17:9]
